Surat cuts diamonds on one side of the city and weaves silk on the other, and its homes carry that fluency with precious material into everyday rooms. Marble runs room to room as the ground a house stands on, never the show. The show arrives smaller: a brass edge, a jaali screen turning afternoon light into pattern.

These are family houses in the oldest sense, planned for households that stay and gather. The care goes where the living happens. Bedrooms are treated as complete rooms rather than leftover space, and the pooja room is given the same seriousness. Gujarat's habit of craft stays close throughout: carved wood, cane, stone worked by hand.
