Nagpur builds its calm on purpose. In the centre of the country, far from the design capitals' noise, its homes choose minimalism the way you choose shade in May: for relief that lasts. Stone floors run cool, wood is kept honest, and ornament is rationed.

What surprises is the confidence. An art deco curve here, a brass detail there, placed by studios that clearly follow their own counsel. This is a city designing for itself, and it shows.
