Indore has always known how to host, and its homes are built around that talent. Dining rooms sit near the centre of the plan, foyers announce rather than apologise, and scale is used generously because the city's confidence allows it.

The register is more cosmopolitan than its neighbours: contemporary lines first, the Indian grammar beneath. Colour arrives with intent, geometry does the decorating, and comfort is never traded for either. These are houses that expect company and dress for it.
