About
Richa Bahl TEST
The practice works at the seam where restoration meets contemporary life, treating each commission as an act of repair as much as design. Mumbai-based and increasingly called on for projects worldwide, the studio is led by Richa, an architect whose vocabulary leans on warmth, memory and the slow accrual of meaning. Lime plaster recurs, used for its breath and its soft, hand-touched finish. The work sits within a wider Indian conversation about heritage architecture, where older buildings are read as living documents instead of museum pieces. Homes here are never decorated to a brief. They are layered, atmospheric, tuned to the people inside them, drawing from travels through cities like Calcutta where faded facades become a kind of teaching. Art, objects and storytelling are gathered with patience. The studio's quiet conviction is simple: a space should feel personal before it ever looks finished.
